Saunders looks up to Pool
Doncaster Rovers manager Dean Saunders
THE defeat by Blackpool left Doncaster rock-bottom and manager Dean Saunders said: “We missed chance after chance and the only consolation is that Blackpool score goals against everybody.
“They have Premier League players everywhere you look all over the pitch, especially up front and even on the bench. You always thought, even when we were attacking, that they might break and hit us.
“I’ve said to the players that we’re in a relegation battle. We’ve got to wake up, roll up our sleeves and fight for every point. You’ve got to earn the right to play.”
Pool boss Holloway was in much cheerier spirits and had this to say about a club that faces an uphill battle to stay in the division.
As for his own team, the Seasiders boss added: “We’ve got a long run to go but it’s going to be a hell of a gallop, isn’t it?”
“I didn’t like 2011 at all. 2010 was magnificent, but 2011 was absolutely forgettable, I’m afraid, and ended in the biggest disappointment of my life.
“We’ve dusted ourselves down and 2012 is a hell of a lot better so far. I don’t know what my best team is at the minute, I have to say, which is a nice situation.”

Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 06:57 AMFunny how you watch a 3rd division (or lower)team for many years and you come to expect profligate strikers, hoofball football or tippy, tappy football without an end product. This was evident when playing The Wendies 3 times, how poor is there standard of football? We have come a long way, and Donny even with their cheating Arab are doomed. They have lost Billy Sharpe, now expect James Hayter to go too.

Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 07:15 PMWow, Woz, hows about that then, last night, i've almost got illusions of grandeur?? This team looks like it could be going back in the "PREM." It's a pity now we may get clogged up with fixtures if we draw at "GOODISON" Still it's been great fun!!!

Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 03:55 PMI watched Saunders post match conference on Doncaster player and he did look despondent - I actually felt sorry for him. He said that they had chances but unlike Bpl didnt take them. A long up hill struggle for them this year.
