BLACKPOOL have turned down the chance to sign Egyption striker Amr Zaki.

The former Wigan star’s agent announced on Twitter that his man was set for a trial at Bloomfield Road.

A letter from Pool’s club secretary Matt Williams inviting him to join the club was also leaked.

However, The Gazette understand the Seasiders have decided to look elsewhere and withdrawn the offer of a trial.

The 29-year-old burst onto the scene in 2008 firing ten goals in 29 games for Wigan in the Premier League.

However, after a bust-up with boss Steve Bruce, the Latics decided not to make his loan move permanent and he eventually joined Hull.

He has since been playing in Egypt with Zamalak which he’s scored 25 goals in 88 games.

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway was believed to be interested in the striker, but decided against offering him a trial.
