The 31-year-old was a free agent following his release from League One side Shrewsbury Town last month.

Gary Bowyer has brought him in as he looks to strengthen his midfield following recent injuries to Jim McAlister and Neil Danns.

Black, who made 59 appearances in an 18-month spell at Greenhous Meadow, previously spent time in his native Scotland with Inverness, Hearts and Rangers, winning the Scottish Cup at Tyncastle and two promotions at Ibrox.

The midfielder will have to wait for his Blackpool debut, though, as he's ineligible to face Crewe Alexandra this afternoon.
