BLACKPOOL kick off their Championship campaign away to Millwall, while Torquay will be Fleetwood Town’s first Football League opponents when the new season gets under way on August 18.
The Seasiders’ opener is a repeat of the closing match of the 2011/12 campaign, which ended in a 2-2 draw at The Den
Fleetwood Town will be delighted to be at home on the opening day of their Football League life but they face a tricky match against the Devon club who contested the promotion play-offs last season.
Pool’s first home game is three days later, against a Leeds United side over whom they did the double last season. They are at home again on the second Saturday, against Ipswich Town.
Fleetwood are also in action on the first Tuesday, making their first away trip in League Two to a Bradford City side who once resided in the Premier League. Town then head to Burton Albion on Saturday 25.
The Seasiders can look forward to North-West derby matches against Blackburn and Bolton following their relegation from the top-flight. Rovers visit Bloomfield Road on December 15, with the return match on March 30. Pool close their campaign at the Reebok on May 4 after Bolton visit Blackpool on November 10.
The derby dates with Burnley are on October 20 (away) and April 13 (home).
Fleetwood can look forward to a Boxing Day derby at home to Morecambe, having visited their coastal neighbours on September 8. Relegated Rochdale visit Highbury on April 6.
