Andrea Orlandi has revealed that keeper Joe Lewis was forced to wear an autographed shirt in a Championship match.
The Spanish midfielder disclosed another embarrassing episode for Blackpool in his weekly column.
Orlandi wrote that Pool, who currently have no kitman, were short of goalkeeper shirts for last Tuesday’s home clash with Reading.
It left Lewis with no option but to start the game in the top he had autographed for presentation to a club sponsor that night.
Orlandi explained: “When Joe tried to get another one he was told there were none left.
“It was funny because he tried to put a plaster over the writing to cover it, and it looked even more funny.
“However, things like that – details without apparent importance – make a difference in a club. A small thing? Probably, but still not normal for a Championship club.”
Another shirt was found for Lewis to change into for the second half.
