There will be a spooky feel to Blackpool’s trip to Bury tomorrow, as fans get right into the Halloween spirit.
While protests against chairman Karl Oyston have often been intimidating affairs in recent months, fan group Tangerine Knights are planning something a little more light hearted tomorrow.
They are urging supporters to attend the game in Halloween costumes to symbolise what they say is the death of Blackpool FC.
Knights spokesperson Steve Smith, said: “It’s a bit of fun and hopefully something everyone will get involved in.
“We has taken the idea from Hartlepool a few years ago when their fans dressed up and it gained a lot of media attention. We want Karl Oyston to know we aren’t happy with his running of the club and thought with it being Halloween we could try something different.”
Around 2000 fans are expected to make the short trip to Gigg Lane tomorrow, and Tangerine Knights are hoping around 100 or so will join them in dressing up.
Smith added: “If we can get 100 in costumes or in black it will look good. We are planning to meet outside the stadium at 2.30pm for a picture, hopefully it will go down well.”
Pool have been allocated up to 2,800 tickets for the game, which are available on the gate.
