Nyron Nosworthy is today awaiting the results of a scan to determine whether he will play for Blackpool again.
The defender pulled up with a groin injury an hour into Saturday’s hammering at the hands of Bournemouth.
Should scans show a tear, the 34-year-old would be forced to miss the remaining three games of his short-term Pool deal.
Like several other members of Lee Clark’s squad, the centre-half is on a November-to-January contract and the manager said: “We are waiting for the assessment from the doctor on Monday but it doesn’t look good.
“That’s the situation you are in when players come in who haven’t played in a long time. We have to be able to deal with it over the next couple of days and see where we end up.”
Blackpool will patch up their wounded squad for the trip to Sheffield Wednesday on Boxing Day before welcoming Rotherham to Bloomfield Road just 48 hours later.
It’s all part of the traditionally busy Christmas period and Clark added: “It’s hectic but it isn’t a bad thing after the result we had on Saturday. We will try to get the players in shape again for what is now a massive game at Sheffield Wednesday.”
