Jose Riga has agreed a deal to become Blackpool’s new manager.
Chairman Karl Oyston met the 56-year-old Belgian in London on Sunday and offered the former Charlton manager the job.
After further talks yesterday afternoon it was expected that Riga would be confirmed as Pool boss last night.
However, a number of small details still neededto be ironed out this morning and a deal was finally completed this afternoon.
Riga expressed interest in the Pool post a fortnight ago, when he confirmed his departure from The Valley after two months in charge.
He led Charlton from the bottom of the Championship to safety with a fantastic run of results, including an impressive 3-0 victory at Bloomfield Road on the final day.
The former Standard Liege boss was top of Oyston’s three-man shortlist to replace Barry Ferguson, who stood in as Pool boss for the final four months of last season.
Riga is currently in Italy with his family, and will take over at the start of next week.
