Matt Phillips is hoping for a good reception when he returns to Bloomfield Road tomorrow.
The winger faces the Seasiders for the first time since joining QPR in a deal worth £5m this summer.
Phillips made 67 appearances for Pool after joining from Wycombe in 2010, and credits much of his progress to bosses Ian Holloway and Paul Ince.
“I had a good three years there,” said Phillips.
“I like to think I’ll get a good reception, I had some good times with the club.
“That season in the Premier League was a good season, and the following season we got to Wembley.
“I still speak to a couple of the lads. I roomed with Tom Ince and I’m still close to a few of the boys.
“You want to do well in every game, but it’s an added incentive.
“My time under Ian Holloway gave me the freedom to express myself.
“Paul Ince as well, he did a lot of work with me on the training ground at the back end of last season.
“I would like to think they will be up there. I was with them in the summer and things were coming together.”
Phillips returns to Blackpool with QPR having scored his first goal since joining in August.
His strike in the win over Bournemouth last week remains his only goal for the club.
