Peter Clarke knows all about the qualities of Blackpool’s new manager having worked with him at Huddersfield.
The defender was Lee Clark’s captain as the Terriers reached the League One play-offs two seasons running.
They are now reunited with a totally different task, to keep Blackpool in the Championship.
“The manager will leave no stone unturned, he will work very hard to make the players better, improve results and ultimately give our fantastic fans something to shout about,” said Clarke.
“Lee made me his captain at Huddersfield having signed me from Southend back in 2009, and we had a fantastic relationship.
“Year-on-year there was improvements and ultimately you’re based on your league position.”
Clark takes charge of his second session this morning after meeting his new squad for the first time yesterday.
And Pool defender Clarke (left) says the team was doing everything they could to turn things around.
He said: “Ultimately on the training pitch we have to make sure we’re giving our best and have to be professional, and do what we’re there to do.”
