IAN Holloway hailed his Blackpool team for producing “the complete performance” to power into the FA Cup fifth round for the first time since 1990.

The Seasiders hammered Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 in last night’s Hillsborough replay to book a date at Premier League Everton on Saturday week.

The Tangerines are now just two wins from a Wembley semi-final and secured victory despite making seven changes to the side which humbled Cardiff last weekend.

Even so, Pool were way too good for League One high-flyers Wednesday and the boss was purring at what he saw.

Holloway said: “I am pretty speechless because what I watched was just so good.

“I thought the lads were as professional as they’ve ever been. It was slick, and we played at our tempo and took it away from Sheffield Wednesday.

“The goals were fantastic. It is nice to get in front for once and I just can’t fault any of my players – they were superb.

“Best thing of all is that half of these lads don’t even know what they are doing yet. I am serious. Young John Fleck doesn’t even know where I want him to go yet.

“Even Lua, playing in that pocket behind the front three rather than up the middle, doesn’t really know what I want him to do yet, so there are lots of things we can keep working on.

“But they have a great attitude and it is a joy to have the privilege of working with them. I can’t thank them enough.

“I am very proud of their efforts. It was a complete display.”
