WALKIE-TALKIE trouble is another reason for Ian Holloway to behave himself in future.

The Pool boss spent Saturday’s match against Bristol City in the directors’ box as he served a one-game touchline ban for his furious reaction to Coventry’s equaliser last Tuesday.

And Holloway has revealed his absence from the dug-out left him feeling cut off from his players and totally frustrated.

The manager said: “Don’t even mention sitting in the stand. We had two little walkie-talkies and I couldn’t hear a thing (assistant manager) Steve Thompson was saying.

“They could hardly hear me ... or so they said!

“I’d have been better off shouting to him, or maybe I’ll teach him sign language. Sometimes it is nice (sitting in the stand) because you can really see everything, much more than on the bench.

“But it isn’t ideal and you just feel totally remote from your team.

“I won’t be making that a regular thing.”
