GARY Taylor-Fletcher wasn’t involved against Millwall because manager Ian Holloway wanted to ensure the striker is fully over his pelvic injury.
Taylor-Fletcher was described as 80 per cent fit and wanted to be in the squad.
But Holloway decided to take no chances, and with the emergence of Lomana LuaLua, coupled with the fine form of fellow frontmen Jonjo Shelvey and Callum McManaman, Taylor-Fletcher was given the day off.
The 30-year-old will be back and fully fit for the Championship clash at Middlesbrough in a fortnight.
Taylor-Fletcher will be looking forward to that one – on his last visit to the Riverside, two years ago, he scored a brace as the Seasiders ran out easy 3-0 winners.
Ian Evatt will also be available at Middlesbrough after serving a one-match suspension.
