BLACKPOOL have received no bids for Angel Martinez.
Reports in the national press suggested the Spanish midfielder was the subject of a £1m bid from Premier League new boys Southampton.
However, The Gazette understands Pool have had no contact with the Saints or any other club regarding the 26-year-old.
Chairman Karl Oyston has assured manager Ian Holloway he has no intention of selling any players this summer, despite missing out on another Premier League promotion.
Matt Phillips, Tom Ince and Alex Baptiste have all interested other clubs this summer but Pool have made their position clear – they aren’t for sale as the club has no need to cash in on its assets.
Martinez started the season as a bit-part player at Bloomfield Road before making himself a first team regular in the play-off run-in, making 15 appearances. His regular posts on social networking site Twitter have made him a cult hero among fans and in typical fashion he was quick to send a message to supporters.
He tweeted, “Thank you for your messages. I want to win with Blackpool some cup!”
