Full-back Kelvin Mellor has claimed Blackpool need to improve their away form if they are to fulfil their promotion ambitions this season.
The last time the Seasiders took to the road in League Two they saw off Leyton Orient 2-1 – but that was their only away win in six attempts.
Tomorrow’s hosts Stevenage, meanwhile, haven’t won at home in five games and Mellor says this game presents Pool with a vital opportunity to banish their away day blues.
The right-back said: “We’ve only lost one in 10 and that’s not too bad. If we keep that run of form going, then we’ll be doing fine.
“Picking up points away is key and fingers crossed we can do that on Saturday.
“Stevenage are level on points with us now, but I think that if we can compete and battle our football will take care of itself and we’ll get the right result.”
The 25-year-old has found the net four times since joining the club in the summer, after two years at Plymouth, and insists he’s determined to continue to add to his tally.
