Neil McDonald has totally ruled himself out of a move to Sunderland, and can understand why some may be baffled.
After a week of speculation that McDonald could join his old pal Sam Allardyce at Sunderland, the Pool boss failed to totally rule himself out when asked on Thursday morning.
But after Saturday’s draw at Coventry the question came up again, and this time his answer was much more conclusive.
“Sam needs an assistant but it won’t be me. I’ll be staying here at Blackpool,” he said.
“It’s amazing a Blackpool manager actually wants to stay here, isn’t it?”
