Jack Robinson can’t wait for his Bloomfield Road debut this afternoon – but admits he’s a little bit nervous.

The Liverpool loan man has played in both of Pool’s game so far this season since joining on a season-long deal from the Premier League giants.

After coming off the bench against Doncaster, he impressed during Monday night’s game against Preston.

“I’m really looking forward to my first home game today,” he told The Gazette.

“I’ll be a little nervous in front of the crowd here I think.

“But once I’ve played here I’m sure the fans will get behind me and make me feel welcome.”

Robinson has been at Anfield since the age of 10 and has played at every single age group for Liverpool including 11 appearances for the club’s first team.

But after finding chances hard to come by, he felt it was the right time to come out and play regular first team football.

“It’s all about playing games now.

“When you first break into the team at a club like Liverpool it’s brilliant.

“But once the big players come back, they have their place, so it’s really tough to get games.

“So to come on a season-long loan is perfect for me.”

The 19-year-old spent the end of last season on loan at Wolves before joining Liverpool on their pre-season tour this summer.

He had plenty of options when it was known he was available for loan, but insists Blackpool was the club he always wanted to join.

He said: “It’s a big club Blackpool.

“Tom’s done really well here, I’ve known him since Liverpool’s U18s.

“He’s done really well here.

“I knew it was a big club and this is the club I wanted to come to this season.

“It wasn’t a difficult decision at all to come here.

“I looked at my career over the past three seasons and I haven’t had many games.

“What I need now is to come here and get as many games as I can before trying to go back to Liverpool and cement a place in the team.”

Robinson has looked solid in his two appearances so far, but it’s also his ability to get forward which has caught the eye.

Something which he says he enjoys.

“It’s a big part of my game getting forward.

“I’m a defender, so that’s the part of my game I like to concentrate on most.

“But if I get the chance to go forward, then I like to do so.”
