Liverpool fan desperate for goal against rivals
Gary Taylor-Fletcher
GARY Taylor-Fletcher is gunning for a goal today – though he will upset his grandad if he succeeds.
Taylor-Fletcher, a true Merseysider, is one of the few Liverpool fans in an Everton mad family.
It means he is extra motivated to grab a goal when the Seasiders meet the Toffees in the FA Cup fifth round at Everton today … though it won’t go down well with his nearest and dearest if he sinks the Blues.
“I am a Liverpool fan, so it is a game I am looking forward to a lot, personally,” said the 30-year-old, hoping to survive Ian Holloway’s cull and start after his brace against Doncaster in midweek.
“I missed the game against Everton last season, so I have never actually played at Goodison Park.
“The only problem is that my grandad and a lot of my family are Everton fans.
“My grandad hasn’t been too well lately, so he is looking forward to see me running out at Goodison ... but he might be upset if we win.
“But my family will be rooting for me really, so hopefully I will start, and if I do, it will be a good moment.”
Taylor-Fletcher added: “It is a big game, but it is a bit different because of the fact we got to the Premier League last year.
