KEVIN Phillips has declared taking Blackpool to the Premier League would rank alongside any of his achievements in football.
The frontman played in the top flight for more than a decade, represented his country and is the only Englishman to have won the European Golden Boot.
But there is no doubting the pleasure he would get from helping the Seasiders back to the big time.
Phillips said: “It would be fantastic to help Blackpool back to the Premier League.
“I helped Birmingham, West Brom and Sunderland get back there, so to make it four teams would be fantastic – and it would be even more sweeter knowing there aren’t too many more years left for myself.
“There is still a lot of work to do but it really would mean everything to me. I would love to see this club go up.
“It is always important to try to bounce back straight away after relegation. We are in a good position, and although we have some tough games coming up, it is do-able.”
Only the prolific Rickie Lambert has scored more Championship goals than Phillips this season.
The Southampton frontman, who has been declared fit to face the Seasiders at Bloomfield Road on Saturday, is head and shoulders above the rest with 24 goals.
But Phillips is next best with 16 – a terrific return from a forward handed a free transfer by Birmingham in the summer.
