Paul Ince has been shortlisted for the Championship’s manager of the month award.
Blackpool have won four of their first five league games, their best start for almost 80 years.
Only a 94th-minute equaliser by Middlesbrough has denied the Seasiders a 100 per cent start.
Ince will be up against Burnley’s Sean Dyche, Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe and QPR’s Harry Redknapp for the award which will be announced tomorrow.
Former Charlton Athletic manager Alan Curbishley, Don Goodman and Football League chief operating officer Andy Williamson are on the judging panel to make the decision.
While Blackpool’s start has been outstanding, boss Ince isn’t looking too far ahead.
“I don’t get carried away,” he said. “All I want to do is get to 50 points and see how many games we have then.
“The league table means nothing so early in the season. I don’t even look at it.
“It starts to take shape after about 10 games, so it’s not worth getting excited that we are up there after five, but we’ve enjoyed a decent start.”
Pool have no game this weekend due to internationals but then return to action with three in eight days, including long trips to Bournemouth on Saturday week and Millwall the following Tuesday.
Leicester then visit Bloomfield Road before Pool end the month at Huddersfield Town, a match which has been moved forward a day for Sky TV.
Blackpool will cross the Pennines on Friday September 27, with a 7.45pm kick-off.
