TOM Ince insists he has no desire to leave Blackpool and admits he is only “where I am now” because of the Seasiders.
The 20-year-old has caught the eye of Premier League bosses over the last few months and is rumoured to be a target for bigger clubs in the summer.
But the winger says he has his feet on the ground and is well aware his career was stalling 12 months ago, when he was in Liverpool’s reserve team.
That changed when Ian Holloway signed him last summer and Ince won’t forget what Blackpool have done for him.
“I won’t get distracted by any headlines or any interest from anywhere else,” said Ince, who has scored six goals in 21 league starts and has been outstanding since the turn of the year.
“Obviously it is flattering, but I’m all about Blackpool FC. I wouldn’t be where I am now if it wasn’t for Blackpool.
“Twelve months ago I was playing reserve team football and my life is so massively different now.
“To be where I am now, from where I was … I have loved every minute of it and I have to thank the club,
“After I made the decision to leave Liverpool, the gaffer (Holloway) was on the phone. He told me he wanted me to play for Blackpool and the way he spoke filled me with confidence. He made me want to come to this club and I am so glad I did.
“If you look at the style of football Blackpool play, the fans, everything about it ... it is great.
“Then there is the togetherness of the team. That is a massive thing and as far as I’m concerned you won’t get a better team spirit anywhere. I think that is what has got us so far and I am sure that’s what it was like two years ago (when Pool were promoted).”
