Holloway rules out Wolves job

IAN Holloway says his time at Blackpool “isn’t finished” as he brushed off speculation linking him with the Wolves job.
The Seasiders boss is one of the bookies’ favourites to succeed the sacked Mick McCarthy, along with Steve Bruce, Alan Curbishley and Neil Warnock.
But Holloway, preparing for tonight’s Championship clash at Doncaster, gave short shrift to the notion.
He said: “When I was out of the game for a year, I had four other interviews and I didn’t get any of those jobs.
“I am probably in a better situation because of my time at Blackpool – but that time isn’t finished.
“I am thoroughly enjoying myself at the club, and we are trying to get ourselves further and higher up the English leagues. That is my only concern.
“If people look at what we have been doing here – and it is ‘we’ – then I am very proud of that but what comes of that is none of my concern.
“I am happy doing my job here and I am working hard. That is all you can do.
“If someone else thinks you are doing a nice job, then great, but all you can do is focus on what you are doing.”

Others in the frame to fill the Wolves hotseat include Billy Davies, Dougie Freedman, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and former Seasiders and Leeds boss Simon Grayson.
McCarthy, meanwhile, has been named joint-favourite with caretaker boss Neil Redfearn to become Grayson’s replacement at Leeds.
Holloway’s priority is getting three points away to a Doncaster side that has only won once since the turn of the year and is six points from safety.
Even so, Holloway has plenty of respect for Dean Saunders’ strugglers.
He added: “We’ve had extensive reports on Donny and they have untold amounts of quality.
“They will try to pass the ball. It will be a footballing game because they have a lovely pitch and a lovely ground, so we will try to play our game against theirs
“They will be fresh and desperate for a game because they’ve had their last two called off.
“They caused us all sorts of problems at our place (in October) but we managed to score two late goals through a substitution (Tom Ince coming off the bench to smash a brace).
“Dean is a good manager and he man-marked our midfield. If he tries that again, we’ve worked on some things that will hopefully stop them.”
Kick-off at the Keepmoat, where Doncaster have won just four times all season, is at 7.45pm.
