IAN Holloway is considering ringing the changes at Millwall tomorrow to make sure his players are fresh as daises for the play-offs.
The manager has to weigh up what is more important: keeping momentum heading into the end-of-season shoot-out or giving key figures a breather.
The manager said: “I will do what I think is best for the football club. Everybody else will have an opinion and I am damned if I do, damned if I don’t. But I don’t feel damned, I feel pretty happy.
“I feel chuffed with everybody and I will pick the team I think is best equipped to beat Millwall. I will try to win the game.
“You have to ask was it right of Bayern Munich to rest seven in the game before the Real Madrid semi? It worked, so if anyone wants to argue with what I do at Millwall come and sit in my chair and have a go.”
Holloway’s comments suggest the likes of Keith Southern, back after suspension, Nouha Dicko, Kevin Phillips, Ludovic Sylvestre and Lomana LuaLua may all get a chance from the start.
The manager admits he would feel very different Pool’s place in the top six was still in doubt.
“If we needed three points at Millwall, I’d be a bag of nerves now.”
