IAN Holloway has finally broken his summer silence ... but only with a few words in last night’s match programme.
The Pool boss has not spoken to the media since his side’s relegation from the Premier League over two months ago.
He wants to let his team do the talking until he holds a press conference next week, ahead of the Championship opener at Hull.
But writing ahead of the Hibernian game, Holloway seemed pleased with the way pre-season is panning out.
“The main process at the moment is to get everyone up to speed in time for Hull,” he said.
“We’ve had very useful tests so far. Results aren’t the priority in pre-season.
“The players are still finding their feet, and there are still a couple of things we feel we can do better on the field, but I’m happy with our preparations.
Pool have made eight signings so far this summer and Holloway is pleased with his business.
He added: “I’m absolutely delighted to have Barry Ferguson at the club. I’m sure he’ll prove to be a tremendous acqusition.
“Barry was one of my top targets for the summer and he’ll add plenty to our midfield following the departure of Charlie Adam and David Vaughan.
“He’s very vocal on the field and sets very high standards for himself and his team-mates.
