IAN Holloway thinks new boy Nathan Eccleston could be the latest crowd thriller at Bloomfield Road.
The 21-year-old forward arrived from Liverpool on deadline day after five years at Anfield.
And the Pool boss thinks his new man will be a big hit. “I like the way he plays, I think he’s exciting,” he said. “He can move the ball, he can twist, turn and finish.
“If his career is getting stagnated and he has been under pressure at a big club like Liverpool, well I’ll see if I can get him going. I’m sure the ability is there and he’ll do what I want.”
Pool beat the deadline to add two new faces on Friday, the other being Aston Villa striker Nathan Delfouneso on a season-long loan.
Delfouneso made his debut as a substitute at Leicester but an England U21 call-up means he won’t train with the Seasiders for the first time until Wednesday week.
Holloway said: “That shows the quality we now have at the club that two of my players are away on England duty this week (Tom Ince is the other).
“Delfouneso only turned up on the day of the game and I just chucked him in. I thought he did well.”
