Mark Halstead has signed a new one-year deal at Blackpool.
The back-up keeper came through the club’s youth system and was being monitored by a number of Premier League clubs before signing a professional contract at Bloomfield Road in 2009.
Despite being a regular on the bench, he’s only managed three appearances for Pool, one as a second-half substitute at Chelsea in Pool’s Premier League season.
He played twice last season - coming on as sub in the 2-1 defeat to Barnsley following Matt Gilks’ red card, before getting 90 minutes under his belt in the 2-1 win over Millwall the week after.
The 22-year-old also has the option of a further 12 months.
Another product of Pool’s centre of excellence, Ashley Eastham, has joined Rochdale.
The defender found first team chances almost impossible, and has spent much of the past two seasons out on loan. He’s signed a two year deal at Spotland.
Meanwhile, speculation continues to mount about a move to the Premier League for Tom Ince.
Reports Cardiff have tabled an £8m bid for the star appear wide of the mark as , though interested, no bid has yet been made.
