Goalkeeper Matt Gilks has signed for Burnley after six seasons at Blackpool.
The 32-year-old, whose Pool contract expired at the start of the week, was offered a new deal at Bloomfield Roaed but has chosen to return to the Premier League with the Clarets.
Gilks, who played in the top flight with Pool in 2010-11, will compete for the no.1 spot at Turf Moor with Tom Heaton, who made 50 appearances in their promotion-winning season after heading north from Bristol City last summer.
Rochdale-born Gilks made 182 league appearances for Pool, having signed from Norwich in 2008, and has won three Scotland caps.
His departure leaves Pool without a senior keeper on their books after releasing Mark Halstead and Chris Kettings, who have moved on to Shrewsbury and Crystal Palace respectively.
