FORMER Blackpool goalkeeper Paul Rachubka – who has joined Championship rivals Leeds United on a two-year deal – has spoken of his dismay at losing his No.1 spot at Bloomfield Road.
After linking up with his old Seasiders’ boss Simon Grayson at Elland Road, Rachubka said of the latter stages of his spell at Blackpool: “It has been frustrating.
“You work as hard when you’re not playing as when you are playing.
“I know I worked my socks off and did well, but I just didn’t play.”
Rachubka added: “I enjoyed working with Simon Grayson at Blackpool and I was sad when he left us.
“But I am glad to be working with him again.
“I know how he works.
“There will be another goalkeeper coming in, but I want to prove myself here and I am ready to compete.”
