BLACKPOOL have been forced to email all media outlets stating that Ian Holloway is not on Twitter.

Comments on a false Twitter account in Holloway’s name were picked up and reported by Sky Sports News and Talksport.

Holloway supposedly Tweeted: “I will definitely be staying at Blackpool. Discussions are being had about contracts but you haven’t seen the back of me yet.

“Thank you all for your messages since Sunday. Not just from our fans but everyone seems to like us for some reason. Except the FA. Oh well.”

However, the Seasiders - aware the comments were being reported on TV and radio - sent out an email stating: “Contrary to some media speculation, Blackpool manager Ian Holloway is not on social networking site Twitter.

“The club is aware of a false account that is online and has been actively trying to have it shut down.”

Holloway has spoken in the past about his dislike of social networking sites and he was particularly annoyed that someone had set up an account in his name. This incident is unlikely to alter his thinking.
