TWO goals in the opening six minutes ended Blackpool’s FA Cup run at Everton.

The Seasiders, who rested many of their star players, found themselves behind after only 49 seconds when Royston Drenthe cut in from the right and gave Gilks no chance with the finish.

The game was dead and burried soon after when Denis Stacqualusi poked home inside the box after Pool failed to clear a corner.

88 mins: LuaLua almost got Blackpool into the game with a superb effort from 20 yards, sadly Howard was a match to it. A fine save.

85 mins: Matt Gilks again does well to keep the score down, this time saving well from Coleman.

80 mins: Bob Harris does brilliantly to clear off the line from Fellaini.

76 mins: Superb bit of skill by Stracqualursi forces a good save from Gilks at his near post.

71 mins: Blackpool, now playing with four strikers on the pitch, see a Kevin Phillips effort drift over.

70 mins: Lomano LuaLua and Nouah Dicko come on to replace Thomas Ince and Angel Martinez.

66 mins: Kevin Phillips hits the bar with a free-kick from 18 yards. Blackpool getting closer.

66 mins: Free-kick to Blackpool right on the edge of the box after Bob Harris was fouled.

63 mins: Free kick to Blackpool, 23 yards out after Bednar was fouled. Kevin Phillips bends it straight into the hands of Howard. Too easy for the keeper.

58 mins: Drenthe fires an effort from 25 yards, brilliant save by Gilks.

57 mins: Everton bring on a familiar face. Seamus Coleman comes on to replace Mahaye Gueye.

50 mins: Good defending from Bob Harris stopped Gibson having the easiest of tap-ins from five yards. Let-off for Blackpool.

28 mins: Craig Cathcart fires one over from 30 yards. He found himself in space from a short corner.

25 mins: Darron Gibson fires wide for Everton after a good run by Royston Drenthe.

21 mins: Gary Taylor-Fletcher is carried-off on a stretcher with what looks like a nasty injury. He’s replaced by Roman Bednar.

17 mins: Bit better from Blackpool as they start to keep the ball, you wonder if Everton have already taken their foot off the gas. Pool need a goal before the break.

15 mins: Phillips fires the free-kick straight into the wall.

14 mins: Free-kick to Blackpool in a very decent position 25 yards from goal after Kevin Phillips was fouled.

12 mins: Blackpool really struggling here, not keeping the ball and finding it hard to get into their stride.



The afternoon gets worse. Denis Stacqualusi pokes home inside the box after Pool failed to clear a corner.

Bob Harris, Danny Wilson, Angel Martinez, Chris Basham, Kevin Phillips and Tom Ince all come into the side.

Stepehn Crainey and Lomano LuaLua drop to the bench. Matt Phillips is misses out through injury while Barry Ferguson is rested.
