Paul Ince admits he is disappointed a deal hasn’t yet been completed to extend Stephen Dobbie’s loan spell at Blackpool.
After apparently agreeing a deal with Dobbie’s parent club Crystal Palace last weekend, Pool were hoping to keep the striker for the rest of the season.
The 31-year-old travelled with the Pool squad to Sheffield Wednesday yesterday only to discover the deal had not been finalised.
Ince said: “I was disappointed. I presumed the deal could have been done, otherwise he wouldn’t have been in the squad, but for some reason that wasn’t the case.”
Pool remain hopeful of extending Dobbie’s third loan stint at the club in time for Saturday’s FA Cup tie at Bolton.
Ince explained: “We tried to get it done before the Sheffield Wednesday and we are still trying to work on it. The chairman is still having conversations with (Palace co-chairman) Steve Parish to see if we can get something done.
“It would be nice to get it done before Saturday as we only have 13 players for the weekend.
“It already looks like I might have to use two or three kids on the bench.
“If we can get Dobbs in before Saturday, that would be great.”
