BLACKPOOL winger Matt Phillips came off the bench for a baptism of fire in the white heat of a Sheffield Steel derby.
He was brought on as a 68th minute substitute for Sheffield United against Wednesday at Bramall Lane.
Billy Clarke did not see any action, after being loaned along with Phillips to the Blades – he was an unused substitute.
It was a pulsating 2-2 draw, in which Wednesday came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2.
First-half goals from Stephen Quinn and Ched Evans put the hosts in the driving seat, but late goals from Chris O’Grady and Gary Madine saw the match finish all-square.
