The uncertainty at Blackpool intensified last night amid reports that Jose Riga’s assistant Bart De Roover had left the club.
Riga’s fellow Belgian has been working at Bloomfield Road since June but is yet to sign a contract.
De Roover held talks with Pool chairman Karl Oyston on Thursday and was offered a new deal, having turned down the club’s initial offer.
Reports in Belgium have claimed the 47-year-old has quit the club and returned to his homeland.
Pool confirmed De Roover is in Belgium, and claim he is expected to resume his duties next week after being granted leave to visit his family.
First-team coach Noel Blake and goalkeeper coach Paul Crichton both signed deals last month.
