Blackpool are one of a number of Championship clubs chasing Kevin Davies.

The 36-year-old striker left Bolton at the end of last season after almost 10 years at the Reebok Stadium.

Pool boss Paul Ince was at Bloomfield Road yesterday to meet chairman Karl Oyston about a number of issues, including player recruitment.

They are waiting on answers from a number of out of contract players and have already compiled of a hitlist of replacements.

As many as seven players will have to come through the door at Bloomfield Road this summer and a target man striker is at the top of the list.

The Seasiders have made enquiries about Davies and a number of other players, although a concrete offer is yet to be tabled.

And they may face competition for the former Southampton striker’s signature.

“I have had a couple of offers already from Championship clubs,” revealed Davies.

“We will wait and see what offers there are before I make my decision. I’m in good health, in good shape and I’ll probably look to play maybe another two or three seasons if I can.”

Davies made more than 400 appearances for Bolton before being released last month, and he hopes to follow in the footsteps of former Pool striker Kevin Phillips by playing until he’s 39.

He added: “Players are so well looked after these days and you do all your rehab properly.

“There is yoga, ice baths and sports science – that’s why people are playing for so long.

“Retiring at 35 is a thing of the past. You just look at Kevin Phillips and Ryan Giggs – they are both fantastic examples of that.

“Hopefully I have a few years left playing yet.”

Meanwhile, Pool supporters can now swap their season ticket seats.

Fans have until Wednesday 5th June to contact the ticket office to swap their seat for next season.

Prime seats which weren’t renewed were released to the public yesterday.
