Blackpool will again without Peter Clarke for tonight’s trip to Middlesbrough.
The experienced centre-half has failed to shake off the illness which has kept him out of Pool’s last two games.
It means Tony McMahon will again move inside to centre-back as he returns to his former club, with John Lundstram likely to fill the captain’s usual role at right-back.
And boss Jose Riga is predicting another tough evening for his winless side.
The Pool manager said: “Middlesbrough are another good side, a very good side.
“I’ve watched a few of their games in recent weeks and they have quality all over the park.”
Pool are on a run of three games in seven days, which they complete with Cardiff’s televised visit to Bloomfield Road on Friday.
The demanding workload is not lost on Riga, who added: “We have such a tough week and that’s why I’d have liked a result at home on Saturday.
“It’s not the end of life that we didn’t manage one but it’s difficult. A result this evening would offer a huge boost.
“There are many frustrations when we managed to take the lead against a side like Norwich but couldn’t hold on.
“I’d like to think there will be a better future but at the moment I’m still waiting.”
