Lee Clark admits this month’s international break can’t come soon enough – but the Blackpool boss wants to pick up points first.
The Seasiders face two away games in four days ahead of the two-week break, with tonight’s visit to Fulham followed by a trip to Leeds on Saturday, and the manager sees these matches as the perfect opportunity to put his stamp on the squad and build some momentum.
Clark said :“I think we can look at the international break as a good chance to get everything in place, but I want positive results in the meantime.
“If we do that, we can go into the international break with a good chance to make changes at the club. But I think there’s enough quality in the dressing room for us to get results in these two games.”
After most teams played last night, Pool find themselves nine points from Championship safety.
Clark added: “We have to build momentum and try to reduce the deficit in these two games. If we can do that, it will give us something to build-on.”
Pool welcome back midfielder David Perkins tonight after suspension but will once again be without Jose Miguel Cubero.
The Costa Rican has returned to training but wasn’t fit enough to travel south with the squad yesterday.
Clark said: “Jose still needs a bit of training.”
