Blackpool are set to ring the changes for tonight’s match, with another injury blow hitting the squad,
Rob Earnshaw will miss the Derby game after picking up a calf injury during the warm-down after Saturday’s defeat against Yeovil.
Despite not featuring in Pool’s past two games, the veteran striker was expected to be involved this evening.
“Rob sadly won’t make it,” confirmed boss Barry Ferguson. “He got injured doing a bit of running, so he’s not available and I have to stick with what I have.
“After a game I like the players who haven’t been involved to do a bit of work, and Rob has picked up a calf strain.
“I don’t know how bad it is yet or how long he’ll be out. Hopefully it’s just a strain.”
After the poor showing on Saturday, Ferguson is expected to recall several players this evening.
Elliot Grandin, who scored after coming off the bench against Yeovil, Stephen Dobbie and Andy Keogh could all return to the starting line-up.
But there will be no place for Ricardo Fuller or Kirk Broadfoot, who remain injured. Ferguson added: “Sadly there’s no good news on the injury front.
“Both Ricky and Kirk look like they will be longer than first expected. We won’t know more until later in the week.
“I have big selection choices but I know my team. I made my decision on Sunday.
“I know what I’m going with and it’s set up to try to win the game.”
