Blackpool hit by Charlie Adam injury scare
Blackpool skipper Charlie Adam
Charlie Adam hopes to be fit for Blackpool’s crunch clash at Fulham on Sunday after an injury scare in Scotland’s 2-0 defeat by Brazil yesterday.
National team boss Craig Levein suggested though Adam was suffering more mentally than physically after failing to carry his Blackpool form into the high-profile friendly at Arsenal.
The Seasiders skipper conceded the penalty for the Brazilians’ second and hurt his knee making a challenge but he insisted it was nothing serious.
Adam said: “I just got a whack on it. We clashed knees but I’ll be all right and hopefully I’ll be ready for the weekend.”
Levein said: “Charlie Adam in particular is disappointed in the way he played. I said to Charlie that it just shows him where he has come from in the last year or so.
“He recognises that and it was refreshing to hear him say he felt he could have played a lot better.
“But he played his part in the team effort, that’s for sure.”
Having gone into the game on the back of confidence-boosting 3-0 victories over the Faroe Islands and Northern Ireland, Scotland were outplayed in north London.
When it was suggested the Scots had gone into their shell, Adam said: “Teams like that make you do that.
“It was a valuable experience for us and will stand us in good stead for the (remaining Euro 2012) qualifiers and the two games we’ve got at the end of the season (against Wales and the Republic of Ireland in the Carling Nations Cup).”
Comparing Brazil to European Championship group rivals Spain, Adam added: “They’ve got some of the best players in the world, like Spain. It’s great to be playing against these sides. They don’t come along very often.
“We’ll learn from this game. It’s one of those where you can’t be overawed and I thought we did OK at times.”

Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at 12:55 AMYou talk utter jealous ridden noncense baggie, i have talked to hundreds of visitors to blackpool in the last 10 months since our promotion. Supporters of prem league, CCC and below and not one has had a bad word to say about us, our manager, our style of football, our fans or ground. In fact, most of the football supporting public love us, especially Ollie! Go back to the midlands and worry about your own team, we just love it here no matter what will be this season...Ps. Im glad we have a leader like ours for the run in rather than than a man who looks defeated before a ball is kicked (and has his weputation tworn to shweds) Bring it on Woy Hodgson!

Monday, March 28, 2011 at 10:02 PMWhy do you lot bother replying to West Brom. You know that is what he wants and how he gets his kicks. Just ignore the loser and he will go away. He has probably already been banned from Wolves, Villa etc sites.

Monday, March 28, 2011 at 08:11 PM" I can't understand why you wasn't prevented from entering the PL with a Ramshackled tip like that" When was the last time you even saw our ground, or are you not allowed out with carers? Bloomfield Road is a modern stadium with great facilities, sorts your head out Knobber.

Monday, March 28, 2011 at 06:46 PMWest Brom, Blackpool may represent the last resort for you. But your resort to abuse exposes Big Drop Projection. Whatever Roy Hodgson's qualities as a manager, he would not behave that way. And if Albion players lash out like you, the Baggies will sink. I wish no other club relegation and fear a return to the Championship amid Tangerine and WBA defensive frailties. But the Seasiders deserve to stay up for their attacking style and 45 goals netted so far, compared to only 33 by Fulham, worse, 29 from Wigan and Birmingham's mere 28, albeit in one less game.

Monday, March 28, 2011 at 05:42 PMDear oh Dear, somebody had a bad holiday in Blackpool didn't they ? Can't remember the last time I went to West Brom for a good time. Let's see -- things to do in West Brom - ERRRRRRRRRR.
BAGGIES FOREVER!!!
Monday, March 28, 2011 at 05:26 PMYou are a very small fish in a very big pond. Even Wigan get bigger crowds and have a modern stadium fit for purpose. Like I explained earlier, I can't understand why you wasn't prevented from entering the PL with a Ramshackled tip like that. West Bromwich Albion, Wolves and West Ham to stay up - Blackpool, Blackburn and Wigan to be relegated. I've already got my "WONGA" on it!!!

Monday, March 28, 2011 at 05:06 PMWest Brom, what the hell are rambling on about in your stupid capitals - you are probably the worst (and dirtiest) team to have graced Boomfield Road this season, I would keep your stupid horrible brummy accent trap shut if I were you. More to the point, I would probably throw myself off the pier if I were you! Enjoy the Championship next season you loser!

Monday, March 28, 2011 at 04:53 PMHi west brom ... is joing a euphemism for something you experience after a good Boing Boing ? Is Ramshackled a similar experience when you travel to Wales ? Or have Black Country computers not been fitted with spell checks yet ? Oh and weather means sun or rain or wind .............. oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. Go and have a walk along the cut and see if Enoch's caught another whale yet ... then jump in and see how deep it is.
BAGGIES FOREVER!!!
Monday, March 28, 2011 at 04:38 PMI and thousands of ALBION fans will be celebrating like we've just won the Premiership - WHEN YOUR JOKE OF A CLUB IS RELEGATED!!! But guess what I will still celebrate EVEN IF WE GO DOWN WITH YOU!!! We'll come back IF it does happen, but the only way for you is down. Lots of Championships clubs are desperate to put you back in your place. (This time next year you'll be fighting relegation to League 1 again. AWAY fans should be paid to visit "Ramshackled Road" WHAT A DUMP!!! You shouldn't have been allowed to enter the Premier League with a ground like that - what a mess. Just take your medicaine and get on with it, Just go down quietly and even if we do join you I look forward to us hammering you twice next season. Has Adam decided weather he's joing Harry or King Kenny yet???
