KARL Oyston hopes to name Blackpool’s new manager within the next 24 hours.
The Seasiders are moving quickly to replace Ian Holloway who left Bloomfield Road for Crystal Palace on Saturday.
And speaking on Monday morning, he said:
“I’m hopeful we’ll know who our new manager is by the end of today.
“I’m not going to but any timescale, but we want to move very quickly.”
Oyston has spent the weekend looking through lists of potential new managers with club secretary Matt Williams.
And he’s revealed the club have already held talks with prospective bosses.
“We’ve spent most of the weekend talking to people,” said Oyston.
“Matt Williams and myself have been considering where we go next.
“It’s a very difficult process and always a gamble, we’d like to make sure the gamble is calculated.
“It’s important we make the right appointment as quickly as we can.”
Blackburn and Burnley were both recently without managers, and the process to replace their manager dragged into two and three weeks.
But that’s not something Oyston wants to happen at Bloomfield Road.
He said: “I’ve seen some of our near neighbours take some time, and the instability has not done them any favours.
“So I’d like to move quickly, if we can.
“We’ve spoken to a few people, and we hope to make an appointment in the next day or so.”
