TICKETS are now on sale for Keith Southern’s testimonial against Everton on Sunday August 5.
They went on general sale on Tuesday, priced £10 adults, £5 seniors/under-18s, and Pool have called on supporters to fill Bloomfield Road.
Secretary Matt Williams said: “Keith is hugely popular with everyone at the club and we are delighted that we have been able to arrange this game for him.
“No-one deserves it more because he has always given us everything he’s got. I hope the fans recognise that and turn up in large numbers because Keith deserves it.”
Southern, meanwhile, is happy about the fixture list for the new campaign.
The midfielder said: “Millwall is a tough place to go but it’s a game we’ll be looking forward to.
“We seem to always start the season with an away game, especially in recent times.
“But we play Leeds first home match and that is great because big things will be expected of them with Neil Warnock in charge.
“We only played them a couple of months ago and a repeat of that result would be nice (1-0, following a 5-0 success at Elland Road).”
Millwall chairman John Berylson is also pleased with the opening-day test. He said: “We played Blackpool on the last day of last season and now face them on the first day of the new season.
“I was thinking for some time who I would want to meet for our first game, and I think that in Blackpool we have a perfect test.
“We have been weak at the start of the season in all my years here. This time we will see how we have progressed. “We know Blackpool are a strong, well-managed side and this will tell us a lot what we have to do with the team.”
