Gary Bowyer’s first two games as Blackpool boss will be at Bloomfield Road.

The Seasiders open the new season by hosting Exeter City on August 6 before the visit of Bolton Wanderers in the League Cup just three days later.

Seventy of the Football League’s 72 teams were in the hat for the first round, only Norwich and Newcastle were exempt as they finished highest in the football pyramid - despite their Premier League relegation.

Premier League sides will enter in the second round. Teams that qualified for the Champions League will enter in the third round.

And it means Blackpool face League One side Bolton in a fixture which has been a regular occurance in recent years.

Fleetwood Town also faced a home tie, with a big crowd likely as they welcome Leeds United to Highbury on the same week.

Blackpool narrowly avoided a derby clash with Preston North End, only they and Bolton remained in the draw as it was made live on Facebook yesterday.
