BLACKPOOL are sweating over the fitness of Tom Ince and Chris Basham.
The pair missed training yesterday and face a race against the clock to be fit for Friday’s televised home clash with Wolves.
Winger Ince limped off in the second half of Saturday’s 2-0 win over Blackburn with a groin strain, while scans have revealed that midfielder Basham has torn ankle ligaments.
Manager Michael Appleton said: “Our injury list is growing. We’ve got Chris Basham injured and Incey tweaked his groin a little bit on Saturday.
“Tom felt it against Blackburn, so we decided to take him off. Hopefully he’ll be okay with a bit of rest.
“I’m hoping Basham’s injury is short-term, though I’m not too sure he’ll be ready for Wolves.
“He picked it up last Thursday in training. We didn’t really think anything of it at the time, then he came in on Friday really sore.
“He’s got a tear in his ligament but not one we expect to keep him out for weeks and weeks. Hopefully he can recover quickly.”
Blackpool were boosted when Gary Taylor-Fletcher came off the bench in Saturday’s derby win, having missed a month with a hamstring tear.
The striker will be vying for a start on Friday as will Stephen Crainey, who is available after a one-match ban for five bookings.
