It may now seem a long time since the Seasiders last graced Wembley but Blackpool Supporters' Trust chairman Steve Rowland was there at the weekend for a prestigious gathering.

The BST chief was invited to address the Supporters Direct / Football Supporters’ Federation summit at the national stadium.

BST spokeswoman Christine Seddon told The Gazette: “We have only been in existence two years, so this shows how far we have come and the respect we have gained. With the unique circumstances here and so much going on, there has been a lot of attention on BST and the federation contacted us to ask Steve to speak.

“Supporters from Charlton and Newcastle – two other clubs with issues – were also invited to speak too and I understand Steve’s speech was well received.”
