Paul Ince’s Blackpool will kick-off the 2013-14 Championship season with a trip to newly promoted Doncaster Rovers.

The Football League season starts early this year, on August 3, with the campaign coming to an end on May 3 with the visit of Charlton to Bloomfield Road.

Pool, who haven’t been at home on the opening day since 2008, welcome Barnsley as their first visitors on August 10. However, their hopes of a good start have been boosted by three of their five August games being at home.

There’s a real North West feel to the Championship, particularly in October when Bolton, Wigan and Blackburn all visit Bloomfield Road in rapid succession.

Other stand-out fixtures include Leeds at home on Boxing Day followed by a trip to Yorkshire to face Sheffield Wednesday on New Year’s Day.

An exciting finale is also in store, with Leeds, Burnley, Brighton and Wigan among Pool’s final opponents

The fixtures appear to be kind to the Seasiders, until you look at the Tuesday night away games.

Diehard fans will be forced to make long midweek trips to Millwall (September 17), Yeovil (December 3) and Reading (January 28).
