Paul Ince has been sacked as manager of Blackpool after just 11 months in charge.
Chairman Karl Oyston broke the news to his manager and assistants Alex Rae and Steve Thompson on Tuesday afternoon after a run of nine defeats in 10 games.
The 46-year-old won 12 out of his 42 games in charge at Bloomfield Road ince taking over from Michael Appleton in February last year.
Ince was summoned to Oyston’s house on Sunday evening for four-hours of talks about his future before being criticised by the chairman in today’s Gazette.
Saturday’s 2-0 defeat against Barnsley has proved to be his final game in charge.
A club statement said: “It’s believed Barry Ferguson will take charge of training when the players return to work on Thursday morning.
Blackpool Football Club can confirm that manager Paul Ince and assistants Alex Rae and Steve Thompson have had their contracts terminatedwith immediate effect.
“Barry Ferguson will take charge of training when the players return on Thursday.”
