A MATTY Phillips goal handed ten-man Blackpool a vital point against Barnsley.

The Seasiders found themselves a man down early on when Keith Southern was sent off for a foul on Stephen Foster.

And the away side made their advantage count on 47 minutes when David Perkins opened the scoring.

However, Blackpool were patient and eventually got their reward on 71 minutes when Matty Phillips turned in a superb Bob Harris cross.

Follow our minute-by-minute report below:

71 mins: GOAL FOR BLACKPOOL!!!

Matt Phillips turns in a great left-wing cross from Bob Harris. GAME ON!

66 mins: Angel Martinez lifts the ball back into the box after a Pool corner was cleared, somehow Bob Harris beat the offside trap and was totally unmarked in the middle of the six yard box. Sadly for Pool he couldn’t connect with his header.

62 mins: Michael Tongue beats Blackpool’s offside trap and forces a good save out of Matt Gilks.

58 mins: Tom Ince turns at the edge of the box and shoots just over from 18 yards, decent effort. Blackpool are getting closer.

54 mins: Barry Ferguson comes on to replace Lomana Lualua.

50 mins: Stephen Dobbie fires a superb effort straight at Button from 25 yards.

48 mins: Worst possible start for Blackpool, lets see how they recover.

47 mins: GOAL FOR BARNSLEY!

The ball bounced around the Blackpool box and eventually was turned in via a deflection off David Perkins.

45 mins: Blackpool kick-off the second half.

HALF TIME: BLACKPOOL 0 BARNSLEY

46 mins: Brilliant break from Blackpool as Matty Phillips runs 60 yards with the ball before firing a superb ball into the box. Sadly Ian Evatt (yes Ian Evatt) couldn’t quite get on the end of it.

45 mins: ONE minute time added.

43 mins: Alex Baptiste turns a cross towards his own goal, luckily only into the hands of Gilks.

39 mins: Another half chance for Blackpool. This time Stephen Dobbie’s effort drifts over.

35 mins: David Button makes a massive save from Matt Phillips. The winger had two efforts on goal, the second being a free strike from seven yards. Good save, Matty will feel he should have scored.

34 mins: Game has died a bit here, Blackpool coming to terms with the sending off.

26 mins: Big chance for Tom Ince as he found himself clear on goal, he chose to try and chip the keeper only for it to drift wide. Poor in the end.

24 mins: Blackpool have responded to the sending off by dropping Stephen Dobbie into midfield and going to a 4-3-2 formation.

23 mins: I think the sending off was a little harsh. It was a one-footed slide. Yes it was very late, but not sure he meant to hurt the lad.

21 mins: KEITH SOUTHERN SENT OFF!!

The Blackpool midfield totally mis-timed a challenge, was late rather than reckless.

17 mins: Matt Phillips hits one from 25 yards out. Good strike but always rising over the bar.

10 mins: Lovely chip towards goal by Matty Phillips, landed on the roof of the net. Nice move involving him and Tom Ince at the edge of the area.

8 mins: Lualua scuffs an effort towards goal after a right-wing cross by Matty Phillips, never looked like testing Button in the Barnsley goal.

7 mins: Free-kick in a decent position for Blackpool, Tom Ince curles into the arms of the keeper.

4 mins: Michael Tongue fires at Gilks from 20 yards. Easy enough save for Pool’s keeper.

3pm: Barnsley kick-off.

2:58pm: Here come the teams, Pool led out by Alex Baptiste.

2:50pm: Welcome to Easter in Blackpool! Cold, wet and windy.

Team news: Blackpool make just one change to the side that beat Watford on Friday. Lomana Lualua comes in to replace the injured Gary Taylor-Fletcher.
