ALEX Baptiste believes Pool’s chances of promotion are boosted by having two of the brightest young things in football.
The defender is a massive fan of Tom Ince and Matt Phillips, and reckons the widemen could make the difference between staying in the Championship and going up.
While Kevin Phillips has been hogging the headlines for his goals during the week, the skills of the Seasiders young wingers have been regularly bringing the crowd to their feet.
And Baptiste has no doubts the pair have a huge future in the game.
Baptiste said: “Tom and Matt can go basically on and do whatever they want in the game.
“I have been around for a bit now, and there is no doubt they are both fantastic players.
“Matty did really well when he had those burst of goals and he has talent to burn, as well as being a really good finisher.
“Incey has come back, after being out of the side a little, and he has been fantastic for us.
“Last Saturday against Brighton, he was almost unstoppable.
“He is a nightmare for defenders to mark, and the world is his oyster.
“We are really lucky to have young, exciting players like that who can change a game. Having them in our team gives us a much better chance of getting promotion.”
