POOL’S start to the season has been severely disrupted ... but a £110,000 windfall will soften the blow.
Sky will screen the Seasiders’ first two games of 2011-12 – their Championship opener away to Hull City and the Carling Cup trip to Sheffield Wednesday.
Pool will receive £10,000 for the Hull game – the home club gets £100,000 – and a further £100,000 for the Cup clash with the Owls.
The Hull game has been brought forward to Friday, August 5, kick-off 7,45pm, and will be the first Football League fixture of the season.
Sky’s decision to screen the Carling Cup first-round tie at Hillsborough means the game has been put back 24 hours to Thursday, August 11.
That has a knock-on effect for the following two League fixtures, which also move back a day.
Pool’s first home game of the season against Peterborough has been moved to Sunday, August 14 (kick off 3pm), and the clash with Derby County, also at Bloomfield Road, now takes place on Wednesday, August 17 at 8pm.
