Danny Andrew can’t wait to make up for lost time as he looks to put an injury-hit first season at Fleetwood behind him.
The left-back missed nearly half the campaign having suffered a serious knee injury in the festive clash against Bradford City.
He returned for Town’s final game of the 2014-15 campaign – a victory at Port Vale.
And now the former Macclesfield Town man is ready to make the left back role his own.
He said: “I had an injury hit season last year.
“It’s never good to get injured in pre-season but I’ve done a lot of rehab work since then. I pulled my medial during the season so that set me back again.
“I’ve forgotten about them now and have done all my rehab nand am feeling strong and fit. It’s all about looking ahead and hopefully making that left back position mine.”
And Town’s pre-season schedule is one which excites the defender.
He said: “Getafe and Borrusia Dortmund B will be very good, so too Burnley who have just been relegated from the Premier League.
“They’re all really tough fixtures which will get us prepared for what will be a tough campaign, but hopefully it’ll be a good one for us.”
