Fleetwood unveil new stand plans

FLEETWOOD Town FC are moving ahead fast with plans to develop a third new stand at their Highbury home.

Although the design is yet to be finalised, the plan is for the stand on the Memorial Park side to contain 1,500-2,000 seats and incorporate office space, conference facilities and executive boxes.

Chairman Andy Pilley said: "The new park-side project is very exiting.

The board has met with a variety of people and I can promise it will be a magnificent facility which will cost several million pounds.

"Arguably, this is a very good time to spend money given that the price of concrete and steel is cheap. It is hoped the construction will be over three floors and it will be a brilliant facility that can be used by the whole town and the whole community.

"Not only the first team, but the Fleetwood Town Juniors and the community football schemes will also use the new facilities."
